Case story
Setting up an integrated field office
Operations & Compliance · Juba, South Sudan
Illustrative engagement. Based on GMI’s capability model — read the note on our work.
The challenge
A partner arriving in South Sudan needs a legal presence, a team and equipment on the ground — usually from three different suppliers, each with its own timeline and its own view of the regulations.
Our approach
- Pillar 1 recruits and trains the local team, assessing cultural and operational fit alongside technical skill.
- Pillar 2 registers the entity, prepares the Memorandum and Articles of Association, secures national and state licences and handles visas and immigration formalities.
- Pillar 3 clears imported equipment through customs with correct HS codes and duty calculations, then sets up transport and supply routes.
Success is defined by the lasting capacity left behind — skills transferred and systems built for independent growth.
GMI core values
What changes
- A single point of contact across legal, human resources and logistics.
- One coordinated timeline rather than three competing ones.
- Regulatory exposure identified before it becomes a penalty.
